Gorilla trekking is often looked at a once a life time experience by most clients who have trekked the gorillas and after sharing their feedback, after a delightful encounter with the silverbacks.

Some clients have gone ahead by double trekking in one park or visiting other parks with gorillas, or doing return trips to often see the gorillas.

The experience is magical, and only those who have done it know how it feels to share the same habitat with these beautiful endangered creatures.

The mountain gorilla trekking can be done only in four parks, thus Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, and Virunga National Park in DR. Congo.

The experience and encounter in the above mentioned parks are similar but as well very different, due to the terrain and vegetation, as well as the prices for the gorilla permits do vary.

Gorilla permit in Rwanda costs 1500 dollars, while in Uganda it costs 700 dollars and in DR. Congo costs 500 dollars per person.

The gorilla trekking starts with registration and briefing at the park office, and also permit check is done on the same spot, before you meet your assigned ranger guide for your day trek, who will brief you shortly, with other assigned members for that specific group you will be trekking.

Kindly note that each gorilla family group takes a maximum of 8 people, and you will later head for the trek, by driving to the starting point, where you walk off into the jungle in search of the gorillas. You’re encouraged to carry snacks and packed water with you as the trek sometimes turns out to take longer.

Upon meeting the gorillas, an hour will be assigned to you, to watch them feed, cuddle, play around as well as involve in picking up fights. Later return and drive back to your lodge.

You can combine gorilla trekking tours, with other wildlife safaris for your perfect stay.
