Other than gorilla trekking is one of the most amazing primate adventures, most clients coming to East Africa would not wish to miss out on their safari. The chimpanzee trekking rules, regulations and procedures are just the same as those of gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking.
Chimpanzee trekking can be done on both our Uganda Safaris and Rwanda safaris. On a Rwanda safari, chimpanzee tracking is done at Nyungwe National Park, a prominent park, for primates, with over 13 primate species, while in Uganda safari, chimpanzee trekking is done at Kibale National Park, which is regarded as the best spot in the world for chimpanzee sightings. In Uganda, you can still trek the chimpanzee at Cyamudongo Forest Reserve close to Murchison Falls National Park or at Kalinzu Forest Reserve and Kyambura Gorge, close to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
On most occasions, along with chimpanzee trekking, a number of other primate species and birds can be sighted along the trail, as you move around in search of the chimpanzees, which is an extra experience during the chimpanzee trek in the forest trails.
Unlike the gorillas, chimpanzees are very mobile and they keep moving, meaning you will keep following them, or trolling them around to capture a great picture or sightings.
You can combine your chimpanzee tracking safari in Uganda or Rwanda with other safaris such as the wildlife safari, gorilla trekking safari and this can be in combination with multiple destination safaris, which will reward you with great highlight of each country’s unique attractions.
